About Driftwood

Based out of Toronto, ON, Driftwood is the collective effort of filmmaker/ photographers Jesse Korgemaa & Zachary Rose.

It is really interesting to look back and think about how we began doing what we do. Driftwood started with 2 friends travelling all over, aimlessly. Starting in Australia we began taking photos of everything we were doing. After that, we travelled across the USA in a campervan (seen in the first photo) hoping to see some friends and some rocks. Driftwood started with the friendships we had and the friendships we made. Driftwood started with the pit stops and the the break downs, in the adventuring in forests waiting for someone to bring us gas. We started with the hitchhikers we picked up and shared stories with. We started with sneaking into the YMCA in Williston, North Dakota just to use its Sauna. With being invited into a Pizza Hut kitchen to make ourselves meals for the next few days. Driftwood started with Pappi in flagstaff, Arizona. For us, it is all about telling the story the way that it happens.

Jesse Korgemaa

Hey! I am Jesse and I am co-owner of driftwood.

I love all things story; books, movies, music, but most importantly life. There is unmatched beauty that is found in real peoples stories, which is why I've always been drawn to documentaries.

I got married in June 2012 to the most wonderful woman I have ever known. I understand what its like to plan a wedding, and I understand budget. But I also understand the value of preserving life as it happened. Our goal is not just to show up on the day, film what we think is important and hand it over. We want to get to know you so that we can understand what is important to you on your wedding day. We want to present your day with sounds and images that will bring to life all the emotions that you felt on the day.

On a more personal side I love Jesus, reading books, and good conversation. I love city life, cycling and my bride. I always love meeting new people so please feel free to send us an email so we can start getting to know each other.

Zachary Rose

Hello Hello, I am Zach and I am Co-owner of Driftwood!

I love going on late night bike rides, reading books, drinking all kinds of root beers and, of course, playing any Zelda game.

Some of the most important things in my life are the people in it, I am so fortunate to have a group of friends who all support each others passion.

We love hearing from new people and getting to get to know you and your love. We want to learn all of the stories of your relationship so when it comes to your wedding we are able to put together a story that is uniquely yours.

Andrew + Maria: Sneak Peek

On June 9th, Jesse and I (as well as Jesse’s wife Emma) had the pleasure of shooting Andrew + Maria’s big day. I met up with the groomsmen in the morning as Andrew got himself a fresh haircut. After that we headed to the Lakeview for some delicious lunch while Jesse and Emma headed over to catch Maria getting ready with her bridesmaids. They had a wonderful ceremony at the Parkdale Presbyterian church, where they wrote personal vows to each other. Here are a few shots of the day, Over the next while we will make a full post of photos as well as the video we shot.
